“OK, Courtney. But what makes this tahini sauce ‘magic?’”
#1: Out-Of-This-World Flavor
I’m obsessed with the way that the rich warmth and sweetness of maple syrup mingles with tangy, sharp Dijon mustard. Tahini adds a comforting, nuttiness and gives this dressing the most beautiful, creamy texture. Lemon juice brings a zesty brightness that pulls this recipe together and complements whatever you’re serving this tahini sauce with, guaranteed.

If honey mustard were a kid, I think it would dream of being this simple yet sophisticated sauce when it grows up. (And I really love honey mustard, so that’s saying something.)
#2: Vegan Yet Creamy Maple Mustard Dressing
You wouldn’t guess it based on the texture, but this dressing is 100% vegan. Everyone at the dinner table can indulge!
It’s got this gorgeous creaminess thanks to tahini, which is a paste made from sesame seeds if you aren’t familiar. You can add a little water to thin this you if it’s too thick for you.
Keep in mind that some mustards are not vegan, so be sure to double-check that.
#3: No Oil
It’s not needed — once again — thanks to tahini.
Tahini has quite a bit of oil, so there’s no need to add any extra. Make sure you give your jar of tahini a good stir to ensure the texture is even.

But above all, I think “magic” is making a rockstar meal that impresses family and friends even though it required the absolute bare minimum of effort from you. And you’ll probably have at least some of these ingredients in your kitchen on any given weeknight, which means you can whip this maple mustard dressing up on a whim, whenever you’re wanting to take a meal to the next level.
What’s not to love about any of that?
It stores well in the fridge, which means you can reuse your leftovers or whip up a batch ahead of time. This is a great condiment to have handy because it pairs well with so, so many dishes. More on that later.
Want to step up your tahini dressing game with a sprinkling of fresh herbs or a kick of spice? I’ll get to that in a bit, too.
